What cookies are, what we use them for, and how you can control them from your browser.

1. Cookie usage policy
This policy concerns the cookies and web pages operated by S.C. NAUTIC PROFI S.R.L., with its registered office in Tulcea, Str. Portului 14 (hereinafter nautic-profi.ro).
2. What are cookies?
A cookie is a small file made of letters and numbers, which is stored on the computer, mobile terminal or other equipment of a user accessing the internet. The cookie is installed at the request of a web server to a browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Chrome) and is completely passive (it contains no software, viruses or spyware and cannot access the information on the user hard drive).
3. What are cookies used for?
These files make it possible to recognise the user terminal and present content in a relevant way, adapted to the user preferences. Cookies give users a pleasant browsing experience and support the Nautic Profi efforts to offer convenient services, for example: online privacy preferences, the shopping cart or relevant advertising.
They are also used to prepare aggregated anonymous statistics that help us understand how a user benefits from our web pages, allowing us to improve their structure and content, while excluding the personal identification of the user.
4. What cookies do we use?
We use two types of cookies: per session and persistent. Session cookies are temporary files that remain in the user terminal until the session ends or the application (web browser) is closed. Persistent files stay on the user terminal for a period set in the cookie parameters or until manually deleted by the user.
5. How does this site use cookies?
A visit to this site may place cookies for purposes of:
- Site performance cookies
- Visitor analysis cookies
- Geotargeting cookies
- Registration cookies
- Advertising cookies
- Advertising provider cookies
6. Do cookies contain personal data?
Cookies in themselves do not require personal information to be used and, in most cases, do not personally identify internet users. Personal data collected through cookies may only be collected to enable certain functionalities for the user. Such data is encrypted in a way that makes access by unauthorised persons impossible.
7. Deleting cookies
In general, an application used to access web pages allows cookies to be saved on the terminal by default. These settings can be changed so that automatic cookie management is blocked by the web browser, or so that the user is informed each time cookies are sent to their terminal. Detailed information about the ways of managing cookies can be found in the settings area of the application (web browser). Limiting the use of cookies may affect certain functionalities of the web page.
8. Why are cookies important for the Internet?
Cookies are central to the efficient operation of the Internet, helping to generate a friendly browsing experience adapted to the preferences and interests of each user. Refusing or disabling cookies can make some sites impossible to use.
Refusing or disabling cookies does not mean you will no longer receive online advertising, only that it will no longer be able to take into account your preferences and interests, as shown by your browsing behaviour.
9. Security and privacy
Cookies are NOT viruses. They use plain text formats. They are not made of pieces of code, so they cannot be executed and cannot self-run. As a result, they cannot duplicate or replicate on other networks.
All modern browsers offer the possibility to change cookie settings. These settings are usually found in the options or preferences menu of the browser. For safe browsing, customise your browser settings, install and update anti-spyware applications, and always keep your browser up to date.
